Samdruptse
: Sikkim did create history of sort with the
towering 105 feet statue of Guru Padmasambhava
standing awe inspiring upon the holy spot of
Samdruptse (wish fulfilling hill). The tallest of
its kind in the world it even soars over the famous
bronze statue of Buddha at Kamakura, Japan. The
foundation stone of this enigmatic idol was laid by
his holiness the14th Dalai Lama and took three years
for completion. Interestingly, the towering image
can also be viewed from as far as Darjeeling and
Gyalshing. |

Tendong Hill : One should
believe that while walking through the forest of
Tendong he will see so many flowers like
Rhododendron, Orchid & Wild flowers blooming in the
nature and when reached at the top of the hill there
one could feel like in the heaven of God where
almost all the monks were praying at the monastry
for the safety of their land (it takes 3hrs on
foot). |
